The DOM Summer Reading Program Begins June 2026

It’s been a little bit since I visited with you, and I apologize for being away for so long. I really had every intention of being around on a regular basis this month, but it’s been busy with the closing of the regular school year in my tutoring world and the beginning of my summer reading world (just around the virtual corner). In fact, the virtual doors are opening the week of June 15th for The DOM Summer Reading Program. Whoo! Hoo! And, it’s all hands on deck over here.

I still have some work to do over these next two weeks, and I have no time to waste. Being a one-woman show has its perks, but it can be somewhat daunting when big launches of programs, like the summer reading program, come around. However, I have managed to get some incredible and much-appreciated help here and there from family and friends.

I have my daughter working on some of the graphic design work for the children’s reading workbook/planners. I have my youngest son working on creating some electronic PDF uploads I’ll need for the children during our fluency reading practice during the class sessions. And, I’ve been able to enlist the help of countless others to spread the word about the program’s existence.

Hey, I know as well as anyone that you can have the greatest program out there; but if no one knows it exists, it’s just a great program with no impact.

I don’t want The DOM Summer Reading Program to be in that category of programs — great but not able to serve those it’s meant to serve. So . . .

Can you help an educator out?

Will you . . . Please . . .

Send the following flyer to at least 3 families you know who could use summer reading instruction for their 2nd through 5th graders? It would be those families who want to strengthen foundational reading skills that set up their children for reading mastery, or simply to prevent summer slide, where the children regress in their reading ability because of the lack of reading activity over the summer?

Here’s what the flyer looks like:

And, here’s the link (directly below) for the flyer that you can pass along:

I would really, really appreciate it. And, I like to take the saying, “Sharing is Caring,” and use it from time to time because it’s quite fitting here. I firmly believe that, if we know of someone who has a need to be served in some way and we have access to a possible solution that would meet his or her need, we should pass that information along or steer that person in the direction of the possible solution.

Again, Sharing is Caring.

Well, I’ve gotta get back to work. I mean . . . since I’m believing you will be willing to share this message, I’m preparing to make your reference well worth your effort and well worth the families who invest in this summer reading program of mine. Just so you know, my program has been crafted with much love, care, and an overwhelming propensity to lead to the desired result(s).

Let’s Keep Our Children Reading!
