Adventures in Tutoring Daily Challenge – Day 24

As an online tutor, keeping the focus on giving my tutees the best human experience possible is a non-negotiable. And, that human experience (human touch) often involves some uplifting of the spirit. The children I serve need it, their families who support them need it, I need it, you need it, we all need it from time to time.

After doing some observation and reflecting on the times we live in, my heart is full of compassion and empathy for many who are going through some really difficult and disheartening human experiences right now.

As human beings, we sometimes FEEL the hurt others are going through, and the weight of the “FEELS” can be heavy on one’s mind and heart. But, as long as we’re breathing air in our lungs, there’s a chance of the turning around of that not-so-good human experience one may be feeling at any point in time.

That’s what I want my students to know early on in their lives, and us, adults, to be reminded of today and going forward (in case we forgot).

The turnaround, the comeback, the restart can and does still happen. And, this day and age is a perfect backdrop for a “rise above the ashes” triumph story or two or a bijillion. Boy, does our world need those right now!

Let’s encourage ourselves and others in knowing that each new day we’re given brings a fresh, blank page to write our triumph story on. A page with fresh perspectives, fresh outlooks, fresh ideas, fresh hopes and dreams, and fresh fights.

It’s time to wake up to the fact that we don’t have to stay down in our debilitating human experiences, but we can choose to be the optimist instead of the defeatist and do something about them. Mind over circumstances. Then, an overcomer’s mindset driving the actions that follow. We can make the best human experiences possible for ourselves and others . . . where we’re at. And then, steadily work to make improvements to the “where we’re at” as we go.

Okay folks. That’s all I have for you today. Take care of yourselves and those you hold dear.
