Where Do You Draw Your Inspiration From?

In several days, we’ll happen upon a day used to recognize some of the greatest inspirers known to mankind: Mothers. However, I’ve always been of the frame of mind that it doesn’t take a “special day” for me to acknowledge, honor, and be incredibly thankful for the Mother who birthed and raised me, the Mother I was blessed with through marriage, and the Mothers who have been such wonderful educators, examples, and inspirational presences in my life in so many phenomenal ways I can’t even begin to count.

I draw such empowering inspiration from them and others who I don’t even know — those who will never even know I exist in their lifetimes. But, they’ve wholeheartedly touched my life through their courageous, unwavering, strong, and uplifting stories of triumph through adversity.

Many Mothers have such stories, because they (we), as I’d like to include myself in this illustrious group, have had to stubbornly persevere through challenges in life — all while trying to be the best versions of ourselves for the impressionable minds who depend on us keeping it together.

We struggle, we sacrifice, we give of ourselves, we nurture, we encourage, we educate, we hover, we discipline, we motivate, we love, we nourish, we adore what we do, and we do so much more.

WE MOTHER!

I didn’t intend to go this direction with today’s blog post, but I just had to. Mothers are AWESOME!

Anyway, my main focus was going to be on women entrepreneurs, who have been some of my biggest motivators over the last few weeks. Especially in light of my upcoming literacy endeavors that I’m working very hard on — in hopes of making them a successful reality in the very near future.

So, let me take the next little bit to include a shout-out to the women boss ladies, as well.

In fact, the other day I watched a documentary about some of the most inspirational journeys of women entrepreneurs who had to push through demeaning treatment, self-deprecating mindsets, health challenges, financial strain, divorce, abuse, death of a spouse, lack of support, racism, sexism, and the list goes on and on.

Many of those women are mothers, and some are not. Their stories are all unique, but the common thread is the fact that they had to push through challenges, setbacks, deliberate obstacles put in their path, and unforeseen forces that could have crushed their dreams.

But regardless of the hardship in question, they stared it in the face . . . pressed through it . . .  and kept it movin’.

I LOVE THOSE STORIES of the underdog, the less likely (or unlikely) to . . . the struggling Mother, Woman Entrepreneur, and Woman who MAKES IT in spite of . . . Those are my kinds of stories and my kind of people.

Because, I can relate to them.

And, because their stories let me know that it’s absolutely possible to succeed, even when your back is against the wall, you’re in between a rock and a hard place, and it’s practically impossible to see any hint of light at the end of that extremely long tunnel down there.

Mothers, Women Entrepreneurs, Mothers who are Entrepreneurs, and Women, in general, are some of the best inspirers out there.

HERE’S TO GIVING CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE:

You inspire me, ladies! I appreciate all of you who’ve paved the path, led the way and by example, met each obstacle with tenacity, and kept on the path. You’ve left a lasting and most positive impression on me that directs me as a Woman, as a Mother, and as an Entrepreneur to this very day. Your stories, and more importantly, your examples are where I draw some of my most powerful inspiration from.

You make me want to do better and be better.

With much love, I say “Thank You!!!”
