Back-to-School Check-In

Thank you so much for your patience with me. Just wanted to start off by saying that. I really do appreciate you. It’s never my intention to go weeks without welcoming my wonderful community here with new content. Never my intention. But it’s been several weeks of a lot of things going on. And, I had to cut down on a few activities in order to cater to others.

But such is life, at times. We figure out how to juggle all the competing priorities we have in life and keep it moving.

Now, I’m not coming to you today with any particular agenda in mind. No, not at all. Just checking in with you.

Today, my primary focus is to let you know I’m doing just fine, will be back soon with new content, still on track toward meeting my reading challenge of one book a month (over the summer months), and looking forward to this new school year in my neck of the woods.

And can I just say that there are some exciting things going on all around me? I mean . . . one of those things is that my youngest just started his first year of high school. It’s been a minute since I had a child go through the secondary education ranks, but he’s my last one. 4 more years! 4 more years! It’ll go by fast though. It did with my first two babies, and it will with this one.

Lastly, I’ll end with this — I’m looking forward to sharing the educational pursuits I have going on during the ’24-’25 school year, as they develop. So, sit tight and enjoy the ride. You know I’ll do my best to make it an interesting journey.

And by the way, how are YOU doing? Let me know what exciting things you have going on where you are. An inquiring mind wants to know.

  1. Phil – I know exactly what you mean. Believe me. I’m trying to get my writing flow back in gear for this academic year. Sometimes, a little hiatus from the regular is necessary. However, it seems like I’ve had a few of those this year. And, no. We’re not going down without a fight. Hee. Hee. Take care of yourself, dear Phil.

  2. Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m praying that he will acclimate to the high school life quickly. So far, so good. Oh, and those were the days — the elementary school years. Fun times, for sure. Yes, time definitely does fly by and flies by too quickly, I might add. Please do enjoy your kiddos. Life can be so busy; and when we look back, that busyness can cause us to miss some of those opportunities to take in all the details and special intricacies in our babies’ developmental processes and in all the awesome accomplishments they achieve along their growth journeys. Keep feeling all the feelings. That’s what we parents (who love our children) do. Take care and thanks again for your encouraging words.:)

  3. First year of high school, wow! It’s amazing how quickly time flies. I hope he has a fantastic time in high school and that his time there is kind to him. My oldest just started his last year of elementary school and I’m feeling all the feelings, so I’m grateful I still have my younger one in 2nd grade. I’m looking forward to what you have to share here!
