Spring-Inspired Goaling/Writing Activity

The reason Spring and I get along so well is because Spring is that season of awakening or a reawakening that brings beauty and life and hope. Things that slumbered or withered away over the Winter spring back to life, blossom, and thrive during this time of the year. Spring is a time of refreshing . . . renewing . . .

newness . . . freshness . . .

And, you know I can’t help but think about The Goal Mindset discussions we’ve had and what springtime can do for the mind state of a person who’s all about the goaling. This season is absolutely perfect for planning and initiating goal-setting and goal-achievement processes. And, it’s also a wonderful time to get inspired to write something. In my opinion, some of my best writing and checking off of to-dos has taken place in the full bloom of Spring.

And with that in mind, I want to give you a little Spring-inspired writing activity to work on. I’d like for you to answer some goaling questions for me. (No, really for yourself.) Here you go:

  1. What are those goals that have been in a dormant state for some time, but they’ve hung around and been quietly yet relentlessly seeking your attention? You have an awareness of them but there hasn’t been any real action taken on your part to do anything meaningful about them. In essence, these goals have gone to sleep, died down and out . . . but are still in the recesses of your mind, just ruminating in there — waiting for a lifeline, a reboot, a jumpstart, an awakening. And even though they’ve been very much neglected, these goals are actually very important to you and you know you need to get to them sooner rather than later.
  2. What’s keeping you from letting those goals spring to life . . . spring to action in your life? What’s holding you up on pursuing these “dormant” goals? What’s keeping you down or away from the pursuit? (Did you notice that the same question is asked here in 3 different ways? I did that for dramatic emphasis and because I want you to answer this question and not bypass it. The answer to this question is the very thing that must be dealt with or moved out of the way in order to engage in your goal pursuit.)
  3. Then, I want you to think about what you can do to get the ball rolling where you’re able to get these goals out of their dormant state. What are the resources, the tools, the skills, the abilities, the know-how needed to empower you to MOVE on your goal to-dos? (Once you figure out what you need, then go get it.)
  4. And now that you have “the stuff” in place to get going on those dormant goals, what are the steps or the actions you need to take in order to move out of the starting block, inching closer and closer to the goalpost?

Now, if you’re able to complete this writing assignment, then I think you’re well on your way to formulating the kind of plan that gets goals (even dormant ones) got.

So, let springtime inspire you and GOAL WRITE!

  1. Yes, Spring is a good old friend of mine. I like to see Spring come around when it’s ready to visit each year. I’ll always have the cookies and milk ready to lay out for that one. Hee. Hee. But seriously, it’s just such a refreshing time to renew and get moving on things you want to accomplish. Nature is such a beauty during this time of year and provides the inspiration and reminders to get up out of the stagnant states we’ve been in and to move it or lose it. Always great to hear from you, Mthobisi. I hope things are looking up for you.

  2. Excellent article Jana. I like how you actually classified these Spring Related Goals and Tasks to execute as an individual👏

Oh and I like the introduction. You and Spring are one, interesting. That is a bit funny, Spring and you, oh wow😂. It is as if I am saying me and Summer are best friends forever, which is incorrect because I am a man and Summer is a season, who is Summer in fact?😂😂😂, haha, just a joke friend.

    Have a blessed week
