A Crash Course on Journaling from Someone Else

Introducing

Couldn’t help myself. Couldn’t help myself. I just had to take a moment and push pause on my own words to make room for someone else’s.

As I mentioned in our last visit with one another, I plan on taking journaling for a multi-part blogging experience, here at Degrees of Maternity. And from what I’m feeling right about now, we’re off to a great start.

So, I’ll fade into the background in just a few, but I want to lay down a little background before giving the reins over to Laura from Lauraconteuse.

And yes, Laura will do most of the talking today.

Truth be told, I just recently became aware of Laura’s content through a quick interaction I had with her online through Facebook; but it didn’t take me long to absolutely become engrossed in the words on the pages from her site.

Especially when it comes to the types of topics she covers.

Laura has a heart to put out positive messaging on her blog — messaging that caters to personal growth, self-care, mental health, and productivity. All things I’m quite passionate about and have taken an opportunity to delve into at Degrees of Maternity.

But, today is not about me. I’ve decided that there’s no use in trying to recreate something that’s already been masterfully laid out and bloggingly delivered to anyone who has a desire to consume great written content.

So, I’ll let Laura take the lead on this one.

And please, please, please read her blog post, entitled . . .

83 Nighttime Journal Prompts to Help You Fall Asleep

(By clicking on the title above, you’ll be transported over to her insightful blog post about journaling. I DOUBLE DARE YOU!!

I promise — it won’t disappoint.

Anyone who’s even a tiny bit interested in the topic of journaling will appreciate the knowledge that Laura shares in this post. Guaranteed.

And, you might be thrown off a little and think that her discussion is just one of those . . . “Here you go. Here are some writing prompts for you. Now, go journal!” But it, most certainly, is not.

Laura gives you a well-detailed crash course on all-things-journaling before even getting into the prompts (which are provided for you at the end of the article). Her conversational writing to her audience is voiced in an easy-to-read, 101-introduction, “here’s what you need to know at a high level” style.

And if you aren’t into nighttime journaling, you might be tempted to tune this one out. BUT DONT! What she communicates in this post works for “anytime” journaling. Seriously. So, if you prefer to journal in the morning or later throughout the day (before nighttime-bedtime), 99% of the gems she throws out will apply to your specific time for journaling, no matter when it takes place.

And I, so thoroughly, enjoyed reading this whole post and found myself nodding my head and smiling throughout, because I connected on pretty much everything she was saying.

Now, I have to admit that I haven’t gone through all of the articles (those that she created herself and those of others that she referenced as supporting documentation) linked within this particular blog post. But the few that I read were on-point, positive and informative messaging — ALL THE WAY.

However, I definitely plan on going back through and studying all of the referenced posts in her blog archives and the articles from other sources, as well.

Yes, it’s to my advantage to read through this blog post and the linked articles in their entirety, because Laura puts out relatable and beneficial self-help content from what I’ve seen so far. And, I’m totally thrilled to see her going so deep with content relating to writing therapy.

Furthermore, I love becoming more knowledgeable through the expertise of others who know their stuff. I appreciate observing a fellow blogger displaying her genius and getting to benefit from the wisdom of that genius at the same time.

So, please read “83 Nighttime Journal Prompts to Help You Fall Asleep” and all the other articles linked within the blog post and let me know what you think.
