Reblog – Goal Setting: Essential for all Life Journeys

If you’re wondering why I decided not to do a new “Blogging Truths Be Told” discussion for this blog post, then let me put your mind at ease. I will, most certainly, plan on returning to regular programming next Friday if my plan goes as scheduled. But today, I still have a little left-over goal activity in my system and I need to let it out.

As a matter of fact, I’ve got a few things I’m focusing some attention on this first quarter of 2022. And I have some organization and goal-setting I need to lay out in order to make the following to-do list happen:

  • Get 13 more products up on my Teachers Pay Teachers store. (I have the products created, but I’m currently working on the other stuff I need to create for my store listings such as thumbnails, previews, and descriptions. I should be able to get all 13 product listings up on my store by this time next week. My goal is to create an average of 10 products each for the 3 months this first quarter of 2022.
  • Work on marketing efforts (Pinterest, word-of-mouth advertising, SEO) to increase awareness of my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
  • Get my daily/weekly schedule together since I had a recent change to my son’s schooling situation. And this change has created a need to establish a new schedule to meet my household’s current needs.
  • Get my audio book up on Audible/ACX, Teachers Pay Teachers, and Etsy.
  • Keep working diligently on all writing tasks for this blog and the DOMinators News newsletter to my email subscribers,

And in keeping with my focus over the last several weeks, I thought I’d revive a blog post from August 19, 2019 that has everything to do with working toward achieving goals and going though growth journeys in life. I guess some mindset focuses will always be a mainstay at Degrees of Maternity. It’s Goal/Growth Time!

Now, for the reblog . . .

There hasn’t been a shortage of goal-setting nuggets throughout this blog. And for anyone who has trekked along with me for any length of time, you know that I’ve made an effort to share some of my goal-setting initiatives with you (albeit, more of a hodgepodge compilation spread out over time instead of a real organized and focused effort aimed at total goal-achieving domination).

Well, I look around me and see people succeeding every day at the things that they love and witness how the things they love infectiously affect those around them. Can you imagine? Getting to do something you love (while achieving your goals) and, consequently, benefiting others along the way.

Goal Achievement

How do some people succeed at making this happen, while others’ attempts are fleeting at best? Maybe it’s their unwavering determination, their laser-like focus, being at the right place at the right time, their willingness to take risks, the hours upon hours of repetitive practice towards perfecting their skill/talent/craft, their mental fortitude to withstand negative rhetoric and actions from others (knowing that their offering . . . their gift . . . their goal achievement is bigger than themselves).

When we look at our goals, they can take the form of the earth-shattering, monumental, world-reaching initiatives that only the less than 1% can possibly hope to accomplish. But, they can also look like those small, incremental undertakings (worked on consistently over time) that are life-changing for you and quite possibly make a positive difference in the lives of others. Maybe your contribution falls somewhere in between.

I think I rest at the end of the spectrum (highlighted above) and I’m good with that. I recognize that I have room to grow and I don’t mind engaging in the “goals growth” process. But while I’m growing, I’m going to work with what I have available at my disposal right here and right now. It’s like this: if the little that I share helps me and one more person than myself, then I’ve had a fairly productive day. And perhaps, if more than one additional person receives some encouragement, inspiration, and motivation from what Degrees of Maternity has to offer, then I can go to bed feeling like I’m living within my purpose.

I’m looking forward to bringing some organized goal-setting your way. You know I’m all about the growth journey . . . whether a writing journey, a whole health journey, a mother’s/parent’s journey, a spiritual journey . . . life education for your overall well-being is what you’ll get here. And, accomplishments are never obtained in a vacuum. Success is much more enjoyable when shared with those you care about (aaahhhh — just dished out a Jana’s quotable). So, I’m inviting you to join me on a goal-setting initiative of achievable proportions.

I’ll conclude with the following self-made poem, shared with my YouTube audience in my very first video. It sums up today’s little chat quite nicely.

What I’ve learned along life’s way.

Will be those things I share each day.

I hope that you will stick around.
