Today is a day for breaking the routine, but in a good way. What I mean is that I’m reserving Part 7 of the Untitled Book #2 audio series for next Tuesday. I apologize for interrupting when I just got the series up and running again (last Tuesday), but I have a little announcement for you.
Now, I’m not going to keep you long. I promise. Seriously, I promise. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce you to my new podcast, coming your way on Wednesday, June 30th. Why a podcast? Well, why not? If you’ve had a chance to read some of my prior blog posts about audio work, then you probably aren’t surprised that I’d be heading this way.
Actually, I’m a little surprised. I never envisioned that I would take the podcasting route (even though I had a friend suggest that I look into it some time ago). I also never imagined I’d try my hand at YouTube, but I did that too. So, never say never.
But, I must say that YouTube was quite an abrupt endeavor. Nothing I really led up to. Podcasting, on the other hand, is totally right up my alley. In fact, here are the audio recordings of the Untitled Book #2 series that I’ve posted on this blog so far:
Untitled Book #2 – Part 1 (in Audio) and The Top 5 List of the Week
Untitled Book #2 – Part 2 (in Audio) and The Top 5 List of the Week
Untitled Book #2 – Part 3 (in Audio) and The Top 5 List of the Week
Untitled Book #2 – Part 4 (in Audio) and The Top 7 List of the Week
Untitled Book #2 – Part 5 (in Audio) and The Top 5 Quotes of the Week
Untitled Book #2 – Part 6 (in Audio) and Resuming the Blogging Schedule
I’ve also created audio clips of excerpts from each chapter of my self-published book, Playground Instruction for the Growing Adult, and am providing them exclusively for my email subscribing family. This past Sunday, I just sent out clip #4 from chapter #4.
Furthermore, I’m currently audio recording the books of the Bible for my family. I absolutely love doing this. Recording the Bible for my family’s personal use is such a worthwhile endeavor. I’m learning as I’m orally reading.
And, I read out loud with my son most nights. Yes, he’s 11, but I so cherish this time we spend together. We’ve been reading as part of his bedtime routine for years and I definitely want him to continue to build up his affinity for daily reading. So, for now and before he outgrows it, we’ll continue our night reading together and chalk it up to quality mother-and-son bonding time.
Clearly, you can see that I’ve had my hand in a lot of audio work, and much of it has come about organically. I have to admit, though; I enjoy all the different facets of it. A lot more than I thought I would. And I’d like to build up my voice to do some professional audio work in the form of recording my book one day. I also have my sights set on possibly providing audio/voice training for others in the future. I haven’t quite determined in what capacity just yet, but audio events will unfold in due time.
Nevertheless, one thing’s for sure. Podcasting . . . here I come.
