Day 26: Creative Movement 30-Day Challenge

Day 26 of the 30-Day Challenge: Creative Movement:

Task: To add 5 more product listings to both my Etsy and Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT) stores. (I decided not to add these items to the WordPress store since I’m looking to utilize the WooCommerce platform on WordPress in the very near future.)

Reason for Task: I couldn’t leave these last few items unattached to my stores. They needed a place to lodge and I gave them a home. Seriously though, these last 5 items mark the end of adding any existing digital products to my stores.

Once I get a new round of products created, then I’ll look toward making more additions to my stores; but for now, I can lay low and let the purchases (hopefully) roll in. As a matter of fact, I received my first Teachers Pay Teachers order today and I’m extremely thrilled. I sure hope it’s one of many more to come.

I find some encouragement in being a part of the Teachers Pay Teachers team. And I’m so thankful that I didn’t suppress the urge I was feeling to go ahead and set up a store on this platform. It really makes so much sense and I could kick myself for not jumping on such a sensical opportunity way back when. But hindsight is 20/20. I won’t wade in the mire of lost time. I’m just seeking to make up for some of that time by being diligent with “next steps” on this new platform.

And one thing I’ve decided to do right off the bat is opt for the Premium Seller’s membership instead of the free Basic Seller’s membership with TpT. There’re just too many additional perks (such as greater income potential and less overall fees) to paying the almost $60 annual membership fee versus not paying it.

Furthermore, there’s a TpT University available to members and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this learning environment (as well as my SEO book from Angela with Stray Curls). I have so much learning to do and I’m excited about the majority of it, which is a good thing. But first things first. I’m going to finish up the 30-day challenge before venturing off into any new goal items. My list is building though. I could literally start up another 30-day challenge right now and fill up each day with tasks in no time flat.

Duration of Task: 1 late night session was all it took.

Outcome of Task: I’m DONE with adding products to my stores (for now) and I really mean it. It’s high time to move on to other things and finish off this challenge with as big of a bang as I can muster up in the handful of days remaining. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but you are welcomed to take a look at my stores to see what I have out there. There are some slight differences between what I’m offering on Etsy versus what I’m offering on Teachers Pay Teachers, so you’ll want to stop by both to see what’s up.

And by all means, don’t be a stranger. Maybe you have no need for the products I’ve created and that’s quite all right. But is it possible that you know of some parent, educator, or child who could use an educational thing or two from a Content Creator who takes so much joy in providing reading and writing tools and incentives for the youth and the adults who cater to them?

So, here are the links you can forward to family, friends, and acquaintances to check out product offerings by Degrees of Maternity. I would so appreciate any assistance you can provide as I believe that word-of-mouth sharing is one of the best marketing strategies around. And more mouths with words tend to make a greater impact than the one mouth.

Practical Application of Day 26 for Your Life: You have to spend money to make money. It’s a harsh reality, but it’s true yet and still. And such a hard saying can be difficult for a solopreneur (like myself) who has a little fledgling business that she’s trying to tube feed and give nourishment to in order to bring it to life.

I’m being dramatic, I know. But, I’m also being quite truthful with you. I’ve personally had to spend funds here and there (especially on subscriptions, courses, trainings, books, etc.) to make my business better and better and I’m spending way more than I’m monetarily getting back these days. But I know that trouble won’t last always. One day, the cash inflow is going to rise above the cash outflow, and I wholeheartedly welcome the day.

But I’m a firm believer that you have to invest in your business. And when you do so, you’re literally investing in yourself. You have to put something in in order to get something out (in order to grow). And just remember, you’re worth it. Also take note of what happens to things that don’t grow — they die, right? So, don’t let your goal aspirations die. Invest in your cause and invest in yourself. YOU AND YOUR PURPOSE MATTER.

You Matter
