Day 22: Creative Movement 30-Day Challenge

Day 22 of the 30-Day Challenge: Creative Movement:

Task: To add the rest of my products to my Teachers Pay Teachers store. (Oh, but another task, requested by a family member, got thrown into the mix as well.)

Reason for Task: I would love to actually finish something that I started. Honestly, this week has been the week for starting up tasks but hardly finishing any of them. Not the best of feelings. I don’t like the idea of having a lot of little loose ends to tie up, because I’m afraid I’ll forget to come back to some of them. Ultimately, with any goal-setting and achieving initiative, you set out to GET WORK DONE and check the to-do item off your task list. So, the tasks, that are in the works but not yet completed, seem to be mounting up and hanging out on my to-do list. And mind you, these are not ongoing tasks that I’m referring to. They’re tasks that should be completed in one or several consecutive days.

Duration of Task: I’m afraid my store updates are going to extend into day 23. (So, that’ll be a total of 3 days that I would have worked on my Teachers Pay Teachers store.) But, I wanted to report to you that the store didn’t have my undivided attention on days 21 and 22 and certainly won’t on day 23 either. I had my weekly routine stuff that came in and took priority over my goal-setting challenge tasks. Therefore, it’s appearing that I’m taking a long time to do one task (actually, it is), but it’s because I haven’t been able to devote ample time to making a sizeable dent in my store additions. Day 23 will end up putting me to the test, because I only got 3 more products added to the store (on day 22) for a running total of 19 products on the store to-date. I just have 51 more to go. Yikes! But, I’m determined to get ‘er done next day; so, I can move on to other things.

Outcome of Task: Again, I only got 3 products added to my new store today. Reason being: I was practically running errands all day long and didn’t permanently resurface back home until somewhere around 6:30p to 7:00p this evening. And once I was able to sit down and work on some content creation activities, I ended up being commissioned to work on a task to help a near-and-dear family member of mine.

Now, I can’t go into details and tell what the assignment was, per se, and I’m not going to state who the family member is. But, let’s just say that my task involved some writing on my part to assist this family member. I was actually asked to help complete this task for this individual on day 21, but I was completely exhausted and ended up taking a catnap that turned into a sleepy time all-nighter. Unfortunately, my family member got no assistance on day 21. Therefore, I was looking at the task head-on in day 22. And, I couldn’t even get to it until the evening time, once I returned home after running (well, actually moving around fairly quickly) all day long.

But once I put my fingers to the computer keys, I finished the task for my family member within 20 minutes. No problem at all. And it felt so good to be able to help this individual, even though this assistance took me away from the task goal I personally needed to engage in for the day. Okay, with that out of the way, I could focus on my store, right? Wrong! I had to evening prep my husband’s lunch for the next day, receive a late night telephone call from a family member regarding some sad family news, participate in the bedtime routine (reading at night and praying together) that my son and I established years ago, and Pinterest pin to my boards.

Well, the Pinterest pinning took me out. I started developing a headache (from exhaustion, not Pinterest) and had to go lay down for my 1 hour catnap. And, I don’t know why I’m such a ditz about this whole catnap thing, because I can’t seem to get it in my head that catnaps don’t usually work for me. I keep trying them, but they end up extending out waaaaaaaayyyyyy too long. And when I finally wake up, I’m into the next day and it’s time to start the morning routine. So, that’s what happened. My store only got some attention early in day 22 and that was it — which means . . . I’m in for it on day 23.

Practical Application of Day 22 for Your Life: Make room for taking your talents and using them to help your loved ones. I was asked, by a family member, to use my writing skills to assist in the creation of a very important correspondence for a very important matter. And, it’s truly an honor to be seen as a go-to writing specialist by my family.

I’ve had many opportunities to showcase my writing abilities for family members and friends over the years, and it’s such a privilege to be consulted with or commissioned to a task when important writing matters come into play.

I’m thrilled to use my love for writing in ways that don’t benefit me, myself, and I all the time. It just feels good to do good things for good people. No strings attached.

So, take pleasure in using what you’ve been blessed with to be a blessing to others.
