Day 12 of the 30-Day Challenge: Creative Movement:
Task: To prep my “GoGirl Planner” for use, starting June 1, 2021.
Reason for Task: We’re pretty low-key in my household when it comes to birthdays. So, I had no idea that my daughter was going to gift me with one of the best birthday presents (or any occasion present) this goal-getter momma could ever ask for.
Now, she was aware that I was doing a 30-day goal-setting challenge, but I don’t think she had that thought in her mind when she got me the planner. As a matter of fact, I want to think that she had ordered it from Amazon before she even knew that I was participating in this challenge.
Anyway, my daughter got me this “GoGirl Planner”, which is not just any ‘ole planner. To me, it’s a productivity planner all the way. When reading about its features, Amazon covers all of the unique exterior offerings such as the three colorful bookmarks, planner sticker page, inner pocket for important keepsakes, pen/pencil holder, elastic wrap-around for the planner’s safe-keeping, quality faux leather exterior, multiple color options (my daughter purchased mine in mint green since she knows I love shades of green), and a perfect A5 size fit for placing in small bags or purses. Amazon goes into the interior features as well. But let me give you my run-down on what’s enclosed within the planner’s pages. The “GoGirl Planner” contains:
- Daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals sheets (perfect for me since I’m on this goals kick and need a place to document all my productivity plans)
- To-do and priority lists (totally love lists and having a place to house them, so this feature is welcomingly received)
- Habit tracker (ideal section for me to track my water intake, exercise output, and sleep habits)
- Mind mapping sheets (more than likely won’t use for mind mapping but will definitely fill these sheets in with plenty of note-taking)
- undated weekly and monthly calendar sections (love this undated concept which will allow me to start using my planner right away)
And I just have to reiterate that I appreciate the planner’s undated calendar option because it gives the user the ability to choose when he or she would like to start utilizing the planner. My daughter’s timing was impeccable in getting this planner for me. For her, the timing coincided with my birthday. But little did she know that the current 2020/2021 planner that I purchased from Wal-Mart nearly a year ago was getting ready to end after the month of June. So, I needed a new planner anyway. My daughter came in clutch for me without even knowing it. And even though I still have the month of June left in my old planner, I’ve decided that I just can’t wait another month to get going on my new one. So, I’m going to start actively using the “GoGirl Planner” as of June 1st.
Duration of Task: The prep work for my planner is all in a day’s work. The filling in of the planner will occur over the course of a year.
Outcome of Task: I got ‘er done — at least the initial prep work. There’re quite a few goals-related sections that I’ll take my time in completing, but I’ve definitely broken my new planner in. It was an easy task to complete and quite fun too. I can’t wait to get this baby filled out in its entirety (over the course of the next 12 months, of course) and then look back at it and see my progress over time and all the goals I managed to accomplish. I just can’t wait. I already feel incredibly inspired to fill this planner with some pretty noteworthy stuff.
But for now, I got the next three months’ worth of calendars filled in, included my summer schedule on one of the mind mapping sheets, and filled in my list of priorities and to-dos as well as my habit tracker (for the week of Monday, May 31st through Sunday, June 6th). So, I’m feeling pretty optimistic about following through with using my prepped planner for this week.
Now, I know that I’m just starting out with this planner, but I do believe that it’s going to be helpful in assisting me with GETTING WORK DONE. It’s definitely a major upgrade from the planner I’m closing out and it’s very much in line with my whole goal-setting/goal-achieving outlook for the remainder of 2021 and beyond. So, I have no problem in recommending that you look into this worthwhile organizational tool to see if it would be of interest to you. Click on the image below for more information:

Practical Application of Day 12 for Your Life: There’s nothing like having an organizational tool that keeps you on track, while capturing all the important going-ons and sought-after achievements in the course of your day, week, month, and year. I don’t know of any human being who couldn’t use a little help with improving productivity from time to time. And one of the most effective assistants in this area is a productivity planner. So, don’t rely on your memory to capture all the details of your goal-oriented life. Document your goals/to-dos in your planner and refer to it frequently as a reminder of what you’ve set out to do and then follow through. A planner is just that — a plan. The user is the one who takes the plan and gives it life. So, live out your plan as best you can.
