Day 3 of the 30-Day Challenge: Creative Movement:
Task: to add the rest of my reading and writing series items (individually) to my Degrees of Maternity Etsy shop.
Reason for Task: Quite frankly, it needs to get done. I’m basically breaking down the 6 children’s themed reading and writing bundles into individual pieces. Each bundle comes with a journal cover, journal page inserts, a sheet of 4 bookmarks, and 2 sheets of reading and writing doorknob hangers (2 hangers on each sheet for a total of 4 doorknob hangers). The series bundle themes are as follows:
- Beautiful Flowers
- Construction Work
- Interesting Insects
- Safari Animals
- Sports Fun
- Sweet Treats
I’m currently in the process of taking each of the bundles, which have been on my shop for a while now, and I’m breaking them down separately (by item) into the journal covers, journal pages, bookmarks, and doorknob hangers. And, these separate pieces are then being placed on my shop in both the full color and coloring pages versions.
I figured that not all visitors to the Degrees of Maternity Etsy shop may want to get full series bundles of all the items. They might want to mix and match and have the option of choosing more individualized offerings. And, these individual items are priced less than the bundles. However, there’s more of a bang for your buck (cost savings) when the bundles are purchased.
As a mom of an 11-year-old, who will be engaged in schooling activities over the summer to keep his mind academically-challenged, to brush up on reading and writing skills that need to be tightened up, and to prepare for more rigorous coursework on the middle school level, I plan on utilizing my own products to help my son with reading and writing skills development. Furthermore, it’s important to me to provide various product offerings out there for those of you who may want to look into these learning tools for your own children.
Duration of Task: 3 days. I started working on the updates to the Etsy shop on Wednesday. Well, I actually started posting new items before Wednesday, but decided on Wednesday to finish this task up by no later than Friday. So, I’ll take the rest of this week (Thursday and Friday) to complete this task. As of the publishing of this post, the downloadable bookmarks and doorknob hangers printables (in the coloring pages) are the items that still remain to be placed in the shop.
I also have some reading and writing tools (teaching and learning templates) that I plan to get up on the shop as well. There are a couple of items, specifically a digital project planner and schedule template, that I want to tweak slightly so they’ll be available as editable PDFs. However, the addition of these separate items (to the Etsy shop) will manifest itself as part of this challenge somewhere down the line (on a different day altogether).
Practical Application of Day 3 for Your Life: I’ll complete this section for tomorrow’s blog post as part of the second day of working on posting the rest of my reading and writing series items to my Degrees of Maternity Etsy shop.
