Progress on the Digital Products – June Report

Well, it looks like I’ll be saving my intended “Know Your Platform and Audience” blog post for another day in the future. That might be a really good thing too, because I’m actually in the process of figuring out those particular aspects (the technical pieces of the site as well as the people who frequent it) of the Etsy content creation journey. As a matter of fact, I’ll probably be more equipped to understand where I stand with the Etsy platform and audience after I’ve actually opened up shop. Go figure.

And since this is the month of the big reveal, I just thought I’d check in with you and let you know that I’m hopeful that the launch of two of my digital product offerings should be on display by (and hopefully before) month’s end. I’m sooooooooooo excited! However, the thought in the back of my head (that’s keeping me pretty grounded right now) is the realization that I still have a lot of work to do, although I’ve made considerable strides.

I’ve also decided to adjust the timeline to roll out some of my product offerings this month and the remainder of them in the month of July. (I’m of the mind that putting out the best products possible is more important than hitting some arbitrary deadline date for launching those products.) And that’s all I have to say about that.

Anyway, just as with any creative journey, it’s quite possible that there will be bumps, curves, and obstacles in your seemingly straight path that may take you off course a bit. And, you have to be willing to adjust and maneuver around those things that can easily halt your progress if you let them.

I’ve come across a few of those impediments, but I have a made up mind to proceed and make things happen this month. So, I will be working hard to get my Etsy shop up and running with all the intricate pieces (banner, store name, product titles, product descriptions, “about the store” information, technical know-how, shop rules for conducting business, etc.) that go into setting up a store for the first time. (I’ll have to share that experience with you once I’ve actually gone through the complete process of creating my shop.)

Furthermore, I originally planned to put out a certain type of product in certain bundles, but those original plans have morphed so many times that I don’t think I even remember the exact configuration of items in the beginning planning stages. At this point in time, I have to admit that the product bundles have taken a form that I’m happy with and that seems to make the most sense. The bundles increasingly progressed into offerings that I think will be more consistent with the theme intended and are, hopefully, more meaningful with the amount of content included.

So, the two products to come out this month will include an a) ebook and b) two versions of a worksheet activity guide with worksheet templates included. And all of these products are geared toward providing in-home educational resources for parents’ use for their children (in the areas of reading and writing instruction). I’ll disclose the July bundles once we get closer to that deadline, as the products could possibly morph a time or two.

I think this would be a great time to stop the progress report and reiterate the fact that I’m still in the weeds with a lot to do, but quite optimistic that I’ll see my June goal through. And with that being said, I have a little favor to ask of you.

If you haven’t had a chance to provide feedback on any of the previously-posted questions and polls, pertaining to this new product development journey of mine, then I would appreciate any feedback you could give me at this point. This information will assist me in providing useful products to you in June/July as well as any future dates in the months to come.

Feel free to respond to any or all of the items below; and as always, feedback on this blog post or through my “Contact” page is always encouraged. Thanks in advance for your participation and Happy Monday!
