Untitled Book #2 – Part 13

Untitled Book 2 - Part 13

Part 13:

Once you’ve had a chance to participate in the two sets of exercises I’ve previously suggested, then you should be well on your way to putting together a comprehensive list of your KSAs as well as a list for your areas for improvement. And if you were honest with your responses to the questions below, using the suggested exercises to jump start the evaluation process, then give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. My friend, you just completed an individualized self-inventory that brings you front and center with your personal makeup.

To recap, here are the questions that should have been answered by your truthful responses to the two exercise prompts:

  • What do you enjoy doing?
  • What are you good at doing ?
  • What do others say that you’re good at?
  • What can you offer to others?
  • How can you benefit others or bring value to others’ lives?
  • How can others benefit from what you do?
  • What are your areas needing improvement?
  • What obstacles and hindrances are holding you back?
  • What are your setbacks?

I could have gone on and on with my bullet points, but I’ll stop here and let you ponder a bit. Make sure that you have the most comprehensive list of your personal makeup that you can possibly formulate. If you think of other things to add later, that’s perfectly acceptable as well.

The intention for this first part of The Rightful Placement Process is to bring our focus onto the things we need to work on and combine them with those things we’re strong in to help us get closer to our rightful placements in life.

I decided to include these two exercises as Step #1 of The Rightful Placement Process, because they tend to go hand-in-hand. And since I don’t recall officially identifying the first step of the process, here it is for you right now. (Step #1 of The Rightful Placement Process is to “Create Your Self-Inventory”.)

During times of reflecting on your strengths, it may be easier to identify those areas that you may not be as strong in. Strengths and areas for improvement are on opposite ends of your personal makeup spectrum. So, on the flip side, you may have areas that are challenges for you that quickly bring to mind those strengths that you currently possess. Funny how that works, huh?

Anyway, once you feel satisfied with your self-inventory, based on your responses from both sets of exercises, then place your lists or combined list in a secured place for safe-keeping. We’ll be returning to your personal makeup later on in The Rightful Placement Process. In other words, your KSAs and areas for improvement will be utilized in future steps of the process.
