I thought I’d start out this week by giving you a breakdown of some 2020 scheduling goals that I have in mind for Degrees of Maternity. So, today’s post will be more like an announcements piece to get you all up-to-date on some of the framework that will encompass the content presented on the Degrees of Maternity platforms.
The following are scheduling announcements I’d like for you to be aware of:
- My blogging schedule will remain on an early morning Monday through Thursday posting regimen. And, each day will be centered on a recurring theme for that day of the week.
- Mondays (Report Days) – geared toward reporting on highlights from My Daily Top 5 (see Reblog – Living While Writing for an explanation), Schedule Board usage, and writing goals. (These posts will probably be archived under the “Life Writing” and “Goal-Setting Challenges” categories.) I’ll also start including a Tip of the Week on each Monday post, beginning January 20, 2020. (These weekly tips will center around productivity, writing, and health and wellness.)
- Tuesdays (Productivity Days) – geared toward tips, tricks, hacks and suggestions for assisting you in working more efficiently in order to create more productive days.
- Wednesdays (Reblog Days) – geared toward reposting older blog posts that didn’t get a lot of traction originally and are well worth repeating for their relevant evergreen content.
- Thursdays (The Art of People Business Days) – geared toward a personal and professional development topic of discussion. (These blog posts will tend to be long reads of 1000+ words and will more than likely appear as content for Degrees of Maternity YouTube videos as well.)
- My YouTube schedule will consist of a weekly video being uploaded onto YouTube every Monday morning.
- I have uploaded weekly YouTube videos for the past month and will be posting the 3 most recent uploads on the Degrees of Maternity blog on the YouTube page located from the “Home” page.
- These videos are what I like to call “table discussions” with real life applications geared toward personal and professional development.
- My Schedule Board is in full effect as of today. Actually, I tried using it last week but wasn’t too successful. And honestly, I decided to give myself somewhat of a pass because I was still working out this content creation scheduling for the blog and videos. For more information on how my Schedule Board was created and how it will be used, check out the following posts, Hourly & Block Scheduling Tips for a Productive Day and Schedule Board Before the Vision Board.
Old habits are definitely hard to break; and I know it’s probably going to take me several weeks to get acclimated to my new daily/weekly scheduling goals. But, I have to admit that I’m excited to simply have a framework in place. This is the first time in my life that I truly feel like I have some structure built into my life that is results-oriented and sustainable. I’m middle-aged, so effective efficiency has been a long time in coming.
Process improvement initially starts with a plan. And now that I have a plan, I’m hopeful that I’m on my way to becoming a more productive contributor to society. I just need to place some action behind my plan and I should be in a good place for the long-run.
