Let me start this blog post by sharing some words of wisdom from my nine-year-old son. Both references took place in the course of the same week, the week before his winter break (from school) started.
Little Man’s Wise Saying #1 (when I tried to wake him up for school one morning):
“I just need a few minutes to power up.”
(This one tickles me, because his eyes weren’t even open when he said this. It was like he was in between sleep and full consciousness. Too cute.)
Little Man’s Wise Saying #2:
“I’m a gamer, not a worker. I’m going to enjoy my vacation as much as I can.”
This statement causes me to chuckle too. While I find it somewhat comical, Little Man is completely serious about this one. It’s no joke. He intends to get some quality down-time in the next couple of weeks.
The above sentiment #2 is pretty much on point for everyone in my household, when it comes to a well-deserved break from work and school. As we get opportunities to truly chill, we fully take advantage of the rest and relaxation we can get ahold of. And when we get ahold of it, we cling on tight for dear life.

Little Man’s sayings remind me that, although I work from home, I’m still working while at home. Furthermore, they also remind me that work-from-home content creators deserve a break too. What better time to lay creative work aside than the time when all of my family will be home together (without the demands that outside work-related activities require of them)?
I’ve already told my husband, children, and myself that we’d better get ready to get our heads out of our technology (desktops, laptops, gaming systems, televisions, and phones) and buck up for some board game action.
Anyway, I do know this much. We only live this life once; and time is one of those precious commodities that we can never gain back once it’s spent. So, I intend to spend it wisely this week. As a matter of fact, let’s all spend our break time with the ones we love.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’ll be taking a break from blogging the rest of this week. I really want to concentrate on enjoying my family before all the hustle and bustle starts again after the first of the year.
NEXT WEEK ⇒ My plan (don’t hold me to it though) is to meet back up with you next Monday with a combined writing goals report for the last two weeks of the year. And, I should be on my regular Monday through Thursday blogging schedule. We’ll see how it goes.
But, in the meantime, I’d love for you to check out my latest YouTube video (posted today) that acts as a visual representation of “The Art of People Business” Series, “The Misguided Worker Mentality”. Hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to enjoy your family and friends while you’re at it.
