I thought I’d leave you with some evergreen self-publishing wisdom that will stand the test of time:
- There are two sides to self-publishing that work hand-in-hand to deliver the best book outcome possible: the art side and the business side.
- You must have The 3 C’s (commitment, confidence, and consistency) operating in order to successfully reach your self-publishing goals.
- At some point, you will have to stop editing your book in order to have any hope of releasing it out into the world.
- The greater the book’s word count doesn’t necessarily equate to the better the book’s quality.
- Small, easily consumable books can provide as much of a powerful punch as the 100,000+ word, gargantuan read.
- The perfect writing duo: writing what you love + writing what others value.
- Reading = Learning and Learning = Growth; so, Reading = Growth.
- Self-publishing work doesn’t end when you click the “PUBLISH” button; at that point, another phase of work is just beginning.
- Audio books are a great hands-free way to get your reading in when you’re on the go. Self-publishers should view this version of a book as viable as the e-book and print versions.
- A writer’s job security rests in knowing that there will always be a need for books as long as a love of reading exists.
