Here’s the first version of the book cover image that my daughter, Toodlez, designed. I say “first version”, but I think that there were actually a couple of tweaks made to arrive at what I’m displaying for you (below). I absolutely adored it and this image was almost forwarded to my editor, who was to provide the original book cover layout (to include Toodlez’ design). And he did, once we sent him the second version of the image. Come to find out . . . my daughter would later take the proposed book cover from the editor and somewhat revise it to get the finalized version that will be presented to you in a matter of days. It’s funny how those secret skill sets come to surface in the most desperate of times.
Anyway, here’s what I’d like to do. I thought it might be fun to play a little guessing game with you. It’s called – Guess What’s Missing in the Image? It’s a test of your attention to detail. And, the only rule for this game is for you to observe the image below and then identify what’s missing in it. Easy peasy!

Apparently, my attention to detail was tested and I failed the test, but I’m not alone. This image bypassed four adults’ critiques in my family (the designer and three observers/reviewers) before the youngest member of the family (9 years old) immediately caught the missing detail at first glance. If you find what’s missing in the first 30 seconds of eyeballing the picture, I’d love for you to send me a comment with your answer. I don’t mind being put to shame.
