Goal-Setting Process – The 3 C’s

One of my main objectives with this blog is to encourage action toward incrementally increasing our quality of life one step at a time . . . one day at a time. This ambition is precisely where goal-setting comes into play. The way I choose to view the goal-setting process derives from a willing participant (you/me) taking on the worthwhile challenge of setting attainable, life-improvement goals; determining the steps in which to accomplish those goals; and working through the steps until all the tasks, required to reach those goals, have been achieved.

Life-improvement initiatives, having everything to do with goal-setting and follow-through, are doable and attainable. When implementing such initiatives (unique to each individual), it’s inevitable that you’ll be served up a huge scoop of self-awareness, leading to personal growth as a result. You’ll gain a keener sense of YOU: where you’re at in your life, where you want to be in your life, and what you’re willing or not willing to do to shrink the gap.

Now would be a good time to introduce the three behaviors that will take you oh-so-far in the overall goal-setting process. These three behaviors are known as The 3 C’s: commitment, consistency, and confidence. And the following statements are my personal definitions for each “C”. Commitment is a demonstrated action with an “all in” attitude. Consistency is the willingness to work on a regular and continuous basis until the goal is achieved and then work some more because there will always be something that needs to be done. And confidence is believing you’re capable of achieving what you’ve set out to do and then going for it.

I find it extremely helpful to have visible positive affirmations of the written variety as important reminders of encouragement for taking life-improving action. So, you are welcomed to print off page 12 from the DEGREES OF MATERNITY TRAVEL PACK as a visual reminder that goal-setting requires your undivided participation. You can access your travel pack from the following link, Goal-Setting Freebie with Productivity Tips.
