It’s been awhile since I sent out a poll, and I suppose I’ll let a little more time pass before I send out another one. Honestly, I don’t think anyone’s actually taken any of the seven polls I’ve posted thus far. So, I’m going to try something a little different today. I was completely on the up and up with you when I stated that I would love to receive feedback from you. I value your opinions; and since we have this long-distance, online relationship thing, I figured that the best way for me to get some interaction going on is to plain-and-simple ask you questions. But unfortunately, I can’t get to know you if the communication is only one-way. My pitiful cry for online help is this: pretty please, let me hear from you from time to time. Then, I’ll know you’re truly real.
Many of you who tune in to my commentary are writers by heart and/or writers by profession, SO WRITE TO ME ALREADY. Hee! Hee! Seriously though, writers write and I would wholeheartedly appreciate you directing some of your written expertise and thought processes my way. So, in recognition of the importance of two-way communication, I’m humbly asking you to take a few minutes of your time to participate in the polls that I currently have out there and any that I extend to you in the future. You’ll find all the polls under the “DOM Build-a-Book Project” category. Furthermore, I have a couple of direct questions that I want to pose to you today, especially to those of you who have first-hand experience with the following subject matters.
- What author organizations, book clubs, and writer’s circles/forums/groups (local, regional, national, international) should a newbie writer (like myself) be looking to join/participate in?
- What public speaking organizations (local, regional, national, international) should an aspiring public speaker (like myself) be looking to join/participate in?

On my end, I’m doing my own research into joining hands-on writing communities and public speaking forums as well, but it always helps to have recommendations from others who have the knowledge as well as the experience in a subject matter. It’s the “been there”, “done that”, “done research on that”, “still doing that” expertise that I’m seeking with my questions above. And questions need answers, folks. Just think: you could be an integral part of another person’s content creation growth process just by sharing the information that you know. I’m anxiously waiting for your arrival. Let me hear from you. I’m all ears.
