Update: just wanted to report in real quickly, regarding my daily water consumption goal. Now, I’m not admitting defeat after being only 6 days in, but I must retract my revisited goal of 4 cups (32 ounces) of water intake a day. I’m making an executive decision to bring that goal down to 3 cups (24 ounces) a day. 4 cups will then become my stretch goal. (If you have no clue as to what I’m talking about, please check out my post, entitled Revisiting Day 18 of the 30-Day Challenge: Procrastination Station for the details.)
Anyway, I’ve managed to drink 3 cups of water for 2 out of the 6 days, 2 cups of water for 3 out of the 6 days, and 1.5 cups of water for 1 out of the 6 days. So, it would appear that a consistent intake of 3 cups is the goal to attain at this point. I’m all about taking incremental and doable steps until getting to that ultimate end goal. And honestly, 4 cups of water a day (for me) is unrealistic coming straight out of the gate. I felt extremely bloated and racked up a bunch of overnight frequent flyer points for my multiple trips to the restroom, when consuming the 3 cups.
I easily surmised that there’s no need to feel like a walking flotation device or that I’m swimming around in my own fluids (exaggerating slightly, but not by much). I think my body just needs some time to adjust to being treated water-healthy. And as long as I’m consistent with my efforts, it will. Here’s to making 3 cups a day my new norm.

By the way, I think the quote that was in Revisiting Day 2 of the 30-Day Challenge: Procrastination Station is actually spot on for what I’m experiencing with this water challenge:
“Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and maybe you’ll come up somewhere in between.” (The worst is 1.5 to 2 cups; the best is 4 to 6 cups; and the somewhere in between, or 3 cups, is where I apparently landed in the equation.)
