Wise Saying #3

It’s been awhile since I put up a Jana’s Quotable, so I thought it was about time to spring another one on you.  (Pun intended.  I don’t know about you but I’m so incredibly happy that it’s officially springtime.  Woo Hoo!)  I’m sure there’s some variation of my wise saying out there in the atmosphere; and if so, I’m unaware of it.  Therefore, I’m going to present this wise saying as a Jana original:  “Boldly pursue something greater than your limitations”.  Deep, huh?  Probably so deep that you’re wondering what in the world it actually means.  Well, let me shed some light with a little background and context.

This Jana’s Quotable was inspired by the waves of new challenges I’ve accepted within the past 7 months.  I’ve mentioned this before; but if you’d have asked me a year ago if I would have ever anticipated assuming the roles of:

  • Web Content Creator (blogger and YouTuber)
  • Aspiring Book Writer
  • Social Media Account Holder
  • Member of IBA
  • Member of a couple of mom blogger forums
  • Amazon Associate (Affiliate Marketing)
  • Ebay Partner Network Affiliate (Affiliate Marketing)

… I would have answered with an emphatic “NO!”  Now, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to remember life before taking on these exciting and fulfilling creative outlets,  relationships, and skills sets.  Seven short months ago none of these above-mentioned roles were even a blip on my thought processes radar.  And so, you might be wondering what catalyst got the wheels a-turnin’ in my professional life.  Well, it took a very recent period in my timeline that focused on some intense soul-searching reflection as to what my unique purpose in life is truly meant to be.  Of course, my personal aspirations undoubtedly consisted of being a wife and mother, even from my primary days.  So, no deep soul-searching was needed on that end.  Therefore, when I talk about seeking my “unique purpose in life”, I’m referring to identifying what capacity I would most meaningfully be able to utilize the professional knowledge, skills, abilities, talents, and experience I’ve acquired over the years.  And, it all goes back to Wise Saying #3.

Boldly pursuing something greater than my limitations required me to try new things, step out of my comfort zone, get uncomfortable with the unknown, develop new relationships, fulfill new roles, put myself out there, and to break out of the limited-capacity box I had put myself in.  Now, having done all of these things while continuing to do  them as I learn and grow, I feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and enlightened with a real sense of meaningful purpose in what I do and how I affect others.  Today is the perfect day for some dedicated self-evaluation, remembering all the while that the sky’s your limit.
