The Journey Begins

Why I’m Here:

My blogging aspirations surfaced when I came to a crossroads in my professional endeavors.  I had to make an important decision on what to do with my life as a forty-something mother with two children in college and one returning to the public school system after spending the last two years being homeschooled by yours truly.  One day, I told my husband that I really wanted to do something meaningful if I was going to return to the workforce.  It eventually dawned on me that I have such a repertoire of motherly wisdom bundled up inside of me.  Why not let it out so it could possibly help other moms, dads (since this blog is not exclusive to moms only), and families in general.

I’ve consistently worked in environments where I could directly affect people, and my goal was always to do so in a positive fashion, whether it was administrative support, customer service, human resources, or instructing.  In all of these working capacities, there was that one key component that traveled across industries, professions, and time…my enjoyment of interacting with people.  Whatever I would do would have to incorporate this element going forward.

As I’ve seen what others are doing in the blogging community, it has inspired me to think outside the box.  Predominantly through the written word, bloggers are making a difference the world over.  Bloggers motivate…instruct…inspire…encourage…lead by example…welcome others into their lives…positively affect change.  Need I keep going?  So,  in thinking about this new journey I would face, I decided to take my enjoyment of interacting with people to an unchartered territory for me…one in which I would have the sole responsibility of commanding my own ship.  I decided to enter the waters of the blogosphere.  While I admit the blogosphere is a little intimidating to me, because it’s like travelling into the unknown, I still somehow feel welcomed and comfortable in my new surroundings.  I have no doubt that I’ve stumbled upon a purpose-driven platform where I can hopefully do all those noteworthy things that I mentioned bloggers do.  I pray that you will come along on this journey with me.  My goal is to make it one of the most memorable experiences that you and I will ever have.
