Now that 2023 is coming to a close, many people are already bypassing what’s left of it and looking eagerly forward to the awesomeness that, hopefully, awaits them in 2024. But, I’ve always been of the mind that all time given is most precious, so why wish it away? Why not make the most of it, even if it falls at the end of a lackluster year of performance.
2023 ain’t over yet, so I say . . . “Use this time wisely to start working on the old mindset when it comes to achieving those things most important to you. And if you don’t already have a clear vision of your priorities when it comes to moving forward in life improvement, then NOW would be a perfect time to do some serious contemplating on the matter.
Because . . . YOUR things worth pursuing need your undivided attention. They need to be deliberately thought out, strategically planned for, and worked on with a dedicated focus that can only be summed up by the words — doing the work that matters.
No, not wasting our precious time, but getting to the heart of what’s going to get us to the goalpost. It’s time, my friend. I mean . . . like . . . right now . . . to get things going. Not wait for 2024 to roll around. Let’s get it going NOW!
So, to help you and me prepare for some better days in the realm of goal achievement, we must first deal with the mind. Because wherever the mind goes, the actions will usually follow. That’s the normal progression of how goals are achieved. There’s a whole mindset established before the action that moves you toward the goalpost comes into play.
Go figure!
In other words, people who are GETTING THINGS DONE don’t just stumble into getting them done. They’ve put some thought in front of that pursuit before witnessing it come to fruition.
And here’s the deal — there’s no magical formula for GETTING THINGS DONE. Results simply require the following formulaic components:
Mindset + Actions = Goal Achievement
Please take note that I purposely listed the proper order of how we get to our goals. Anything we do starts with the thought (of it) first.
And, all of it takes work on YOUR part. It takes work! There’s no magic in that. It is what it is. The people who you consider the “GOATs” in whatever expertise they possess didn’t “magically” arrive at that status by adopting a no-work policy. No, they GOT THINGS DONE by doing the work that led or is leading them to their goal achievement.
Simply stated, goal achievement comes from the work that originates from a mindset that tells the GOAT to do the work that leads to achieving the goal. Got it?!
MINDSET DRIVES ACTIONS
and
ACTIONS LEAD TO RESULTS
Well, I don’t want to beat this topic to a pulp today, because I plan on coming back over the next few weeks and grinding it down for you with some specifics and examples that will encourage you to see goal achievement as something realistic and within your grasp over and over again. Only IF the mindset that precedes it is in its proper placement.
It all starts with the mindset.
Speaking of the mind, please keep yours coming back to this blog to see where in the world I’m going with this. And remember: we still have some time left to 2023, so don’t wish or waste it away. Use NOW as the time to get going on those results you’re looking for.

I love what you’ve said here, Mthobisi. It’s so true. This year has been a different experience for each of us. And, I think many people DO want to look forward to a fresh start because what they’ve been experiencing over the course of the year has been really hard stuff to deal with. So, I definitely don’t want to downplay that by any means. I just simply wanted to emphasize the importance of conditioning the mind to take us to positive places sooner rather than later. While we have a mind (or mindset) that’s telling us to go forward, then we should try to let the actions follow (while the motivation is there), because the mindset tends to drive the actions. But you’re right, easier said than done. And, THE START can sometimes be the hardest part in the whole goal-achievement process — no matter whether that START happens before 2023 ends or after.

Inspiring blog post. Well I would like to share my opinion by saying, it is easier said than done.
This year has been a rollercoaster for some and for others a walk in the park. People”s situations are different and there are those who want to say “Goodbye” to this year due to the tragic events that happened.
Lastly, Indeed the year is not over yet but honestly, there is very little that can be done by an Ambitious person. Although, I agree that mindset + goals = Achievement
Take care and have a great festive season🌲🌲🙏
